Backpackers Song - a song of the new nomads

Hey ho, we are backpackers on the go,
Nomads of this century and long ago,
Ready for far horizon, hot or cold,
Ready for challenges, new and bold.

Like camels struggling across the desert sand,
Take big strides or strive in no-man’s land.
Like fairy-tale heroes in the wild, wild wood,
Brave and bold, or merry wanderers misunderstood.

We are nomads in life’s prairies, green or lean.
See strange places and things, long lost or unseen.
Dare to be here or there - to seek life, love and beauty rare,
Without a care, nor bother about who stop and stare.

Just pack away your troubles into the garret.
Life is to be lived; it’s too short for regret.
Hey ho, young and old, come and join the pack -
As nomads on the go and ready to trek or track
Round the world with your pack on your back,
Ever ready to pack and pack and then unpack.

This is our Singapore Backpackers Hostel . It is the ServiceWorld Chinatown (Chin Swee) Hostel in Singapore. It is located at Block 52, Chin Swee Road, #03-45. All bookings, contact Andrew Yip at andrewyip181@hotmail.com.

A new hostel located in Chinatown close to the Chinatown MRT Station and next to the People’s Park Complex and the OG Departmental Store. It is also adjacent to the Pearl's Hill City Park entrance. This is a powerful reminder that Singapore is a garden city. Thus although the hostel is located in a densely populated Chinatown area, it still has a city park nearby for relaxation, meditation, nature walking, jogging and light exercise. There is in fact an exercise station within the park that appeal to young and old. The hostel above all is a clean and cosy hostel, fully air-conditioned and has a kitchen, toilet and bath, and a separate shower room ensuite. There is a supermarket on the ground floor and several eating houses nearby, one of which is a 24-hour eating centre. This is a premier hostel in Chinatown, located on the third storey of a shopping centre at Block 5, Chin Swee Road. The hostel provides internet access for guests. It is well equipped with modern fire protection facilities and has security electronic door access. Lockers are provided free of charge. Laundry service is also provided for a small fee. Located in the original historic district of Chinatown, the hostel is a convenient meeting point for travellers. Close by are People’s Park Complex, Manhattan House, People’s Park Centre, Chinatown Point and the hotels and restaurants of Havelock Road. From the hostel, one could just walk within minutes to Clarke Quay and Boat Quay , along the Singapore River, or to Empress Place, Raffles Place, the National Museum, the Chinatown Heritage Centre, the Buddha’s Tooth Relic Temple and the Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple. One could also travel quickly to the Harbour Front to visit the VivoCity and the Sentosa Tourist resort. This is indeed a great location for travellers.
